Alhoa

After much debate (and I mean--A LOT OF DEBATE) we are going to Hawaii! I am so excited. We are going in February unless and it is a big UNLESS we have been placed with a baby or have a birthmother that is due that same time frame. We are going for 6 nights and will be there over my birthday. Why the debate you might ask? Well you see when you are waiting for "the call" everything you do and plan is basically like a "what if" scenario. It is frustrating as heck to have to live life like that--and I plan events for a living so planning is my specialty AND I can't plan anything with the adoption process and it makes me crazy. I am working on it--let's just say I am a work in progress! So we decided that if we have to postpone the trip in February it will only be because of the most exciting and important time of our life---being parents. And if not--we will be soaking up the sun at a resort in Oahu. We can't complain--either way!

On to other news...my best friend and sister is having a baby! Yep, Megan and Antwain are due in March. We are happy for them and can't wait to meet their little one. I would be lying if I said it was an easy phone call to get--the news was hard to digest. We both cried. I know she was scared to tell me and I was happy and sad--the one person I could talk to about my issues has now graduated onto the other side. Who could I turn to now?
It is a hard dance to dance and I am sure it will continue to be that way as her due date draws near but we have vowed to have open communication and to not let this ruin our friendship. She means the world to me and I will be there for her each step of the way. I can't guarantee that I won't cry into my pillow on occasion but I will love her and support her regardless! I am so happy for them but it makes me/us continue to question "the plan" and why we are the ones going through it. Someday....someday we will hopefully figure it out.

So that is just a glimpse of what has been happening in our neck of the woods. Life is full and we have our faith, family and friends and that is what we need in our life...and with that we can do anything!!
