Time

This weekend Cullen and I spent some time discussing adoption and how we feel since it has been 7 months. I think Cullen described it best...it seems like everyone is on this nicely paved super highway cruising at a nice, consistent speed and we are on an old bumpy gravel road going at about 5 miles an hour and hitting potholes along the way. We are tired of being on the gravel road and ready to join the super highway!

We talked at great length over dinner on Saturday night and then did some Christmas shopping. On Sunday we did our normal routine. Breakfast with our dear friends/family and church. As it often happens, the homily spoke to us at a time when we deeply needed it. The homily discussed how time goes so quickly and to slow down and really enjoy the journey. Don't get lost on the blessings that occur on a daily basis. It is the journey that makes the end result so beautiful. Thank you God for speaking to us this weekend! We needed it in order to pick ourselves up and to move forward slowly enjoying what the day had to offer.

I am thankful for the journey--no matter how hard it is!
