12 Days of Christmas

I thought a lot over the weekend about how blessed we are that we have our health, a warm house to go home to, food to eat and family and friends that love and support us!

I decided that I would try to give back or pay it forward--whatever you want to call it. I decided that each day during the 12 days of Christmas, I would try to do something nice for someone else. It can be little or big--but that I would consciously go out of my way to help someone out. Our Priest continues to preach each week to not lose track of the reason we celebrate the season and so I am going to do just that--not get lost in the details, not get upset about long lines or traffic. I am going to give thanks for what I have (and Lord, I have plenty to be thankful for) and give back to someone who might need a little cheer!

Day 1
A few weeks ago our parish put names on an Angel tree and we picked 4 names off and bought them presents. Yesterday we delivered the gifts. I will tell you that I spent more time picking out those gifts then I do for my own family. I wanted to make sure I got them as much as I could for the amount I spent. It feels so good to give back. I just wish I could see them as they open the gifts!

I will post my progress each day--but it will always be a day behind so I can properly reflect on the process.
